Description
A quiet shoreline. A canoe pulled gently ashore. Time slowed to a paddle’s rhythm. Canoe to Tranquil Times is a beautifully crafted tribute to one of Canada’s most enduring symbols. Issued by the Royal Canadian Mint, this 2017 collectible captures the restorative spirit of canoeing and its deep roots in Canada’s landscape and history.
The centrepiece of the design is a miniature real-wood canoe, laser-etched for remarkable realism and a striking three-dimensional effect. Selective colour enhances the surrounding scenery, from dense shoreline vegetation to a twig of maple leaves that anchors the scene firmly in Canada. Two paddles rest on the rocks in the foreground, inviting the viewer into a moment of stillness and reflection.
Struck in 1 oz of 99.99% pure silver with a limited mintage of just 4,500 coins worldwide, this issue is both a work of art and a highly sought-after collectible. As a pure silver coin, it is GST/HST exempt.
