The reverse features the powerful allegorical design originally created by Edward Carter Preston for the Korean War Medal. It depicts Hercules, the legendary warrior of Roman mythology, slaying the many-headed hydra—an enduring symbol of the perilous and relentless trials of war, and a tribute to those who willingly face them.

The inscription “KOREA” has been expanded to include “CORÉE”, reflecting Canada’s bilingual identity.

The obverse displays Mary Gillick’s 1953 effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, the same portrait used on Canadian coinage during the Korean War era, reinforcing the historical authenticity of the tribute.

The coin is encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint maroon clamshell, lined with black flock and protected by a custom beauty box. A serialized certificate of authenticity is included.
